For well over 30 years the topic of sustainability has been gaining increased significance in the economy and in executive suites. The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming ever more established for the entrepreneurial responsibility to society. This voluntary contribution on the part of companies always includes ecological, economic and social aspects.
By the 1980s the owners of the MEWA Group were intent on taking on precisely this type of social responsibility, and to firmly anchor this type of social responsibility in the basic values of the enterprise. Because a person can only act responsibly when he is aware of his responsibility. These basic values still constitute the identity of the MEWA enterprise, and are still lived by all managers and employees on a daily basis.
